Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on 11-2-1952.
The arms show three tips from bear hunting spears. Bear hunting used to be practised in the surroundings. They also are a reminder of the local hero Olli Tiainen.
The arms were chosen from a local competition held in 1951. Two other designs were shortlisted, but not chosen, These are shown below.
