Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on June 15, 1976.
The upper half refers to the so-called Remigiusland (with a crosier for St. Remigius, bishop of Reims) and the Counts of Veldenz, the former rulers of the area (blue lion).
The lower half symbolises the local stone mining and quarries.
