Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on June 29, 1982.

The bend of pearls is a reference to St Margaret (Greek for "pearl"), patron-saint of Wenigzell church. The griffin's foot (Klauenflügel) charge is taken from the arms of the monastery of Vorau. The Canons Regular of Vorau have been rectors of the parish for about 800 years now.

The stag's attire in base is taken from the arms of a landlord of the 12^th century, count Wolfrad von Treffen. Count Wolfrad belonged to the Isny-Veringen family, ancestors of the counts of Württemberg. He is reported to have brought the first settlers from the Schwarzwald to Wenigzell. The counts of Württemberg inherited the arms of the Isny-Veringen, displaying three stag's antlers.
